Yoga Retreat

Emily and I were joined by Enamul and Ivelle for a one week yoga retreat hosted by our yoga teacher Sunnah Rose two weeks ago. It was an amazing experience which reset by my body and now I’ll see if I can keep up some of the fitness which resulted from yoga twice a day and running up mountains (so vey unlike me but fun!) and swimming.

The new friends we made we lovely and the room we stayed in was really a primitive dolls house. Perfect.

Amondawa tribe lacks abstract idea of time, study says

“Tribe lacks abstract idea of time, study says”

This is very interesting in regard to how writing helped give us logic. Also interesting is: “The team hypothesises that the lack of the time concept arises from the lack of “time technology” – a calendar system or clocks – and that this in turn may be related to the fact that, like many tribes, their number system is limited in detail.”

Paper.

I’m editing The Liquid Information Philosophy book on paper and it just feels nice to go through and edit. Why is it that I find reading on an iPad better but editing on paper easier? It’s not just the adding of editing notes, but also the way I see more issues and mistakes, as Emily first pointed out. Interesting.

Chunking.

Here is a funny thing. I saw a sign on the underground: A2131

The funny thing is I said it out loud in my head. And I said it as ‘a’, ‘2131’. But I read it as ‘A2′, ;131’.

In other words, the visual and auditory chucking was different. Interesting.
